I’m Zack French, a Board Certified Master Arborist

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in tree and shrub care, I specialize in ornamental pruning, plant health care, and consulting services for homeowners, landowners, and professionals across Tennessee. I’ve collaborated with many local arborists over the years, helping to develop pruning programs and train others in the thoughtful care of trees.

I am a Board Certified Master Arborist (ISA Certification #SO-4172BT) and hold the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). I'm also a Registered Consulting Arborist with the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA #450), where I hold their Tree and Plant Appraisal Qualification.

Until 2022, I was partnered with a local tree company, but chose to step away in order to create something more aligned with my values. That vision became The Wood Farm at Post Oaks — a living, working space committed to regenerative tree care and sustainable use of urban forestry waste.

Whether I’m restoring neglected ornamental trees, developing custom plant health programs, or writing tree preservation plans for construction sites, my focus is the same: protect the integrity of the landscape, improve soil and tree vitality, and provide honest, expert guidance.

It’s not just about trees — it’s about the ecosystems they support, the people they shade, and the legacy they leave behind.

Ornamental & Specialty Pruning

I offer precise, species-specific pruning that improves plant health and highlights natural form.

From restorative work to formal styles like topiary, espalier, and boxwood clouding, each project follows ANSI A300 standards and is tailored to your landscape’s long-term needs.

Plant Health Care

Trees face stress from poor soil, pests, and changing environments — I help restore balance.

Using organic fertilizers, compost teas, and mycorrhizal treatments, I tailor each program to the tree’s unique needs. I also offer root collar excavation and root pruning when deeper intervention is required.
